We discuss the cover’s construction, fastenings and finish. Cleaning instructions depend on the chosen fabric. Whether it can be washed, and how, must be checked against that material’s care guidance.

Photograph the whole piece, its sides, back and cushions. Show joins between parts and, if safely accessible, the underside. Include both positions of a sofa bed. The cover must suit both the furniture’s shape and its use. Send approximate dimensions and the model, if known. Explain whether you want one complete cover or separate covers for the seat, back and cushions, and how often you intend to remove them. Measurements for sewing need to be established accurately. A removable cover and replacement upholstery are different solutions. A cover goes over the furniture; reupholstery replaces the existing covering. A cover does not repair a sagging seat or damaged frame. Show these problems before choosing the work. Washability depends on the particular fabric and its care instructions. Shrinkage and drying also matter. A removable cover is not automatically machine washable. Describe the desired fit and finish. You can link to a similar archive example.
