What can be changed

We discuss repairs or replacement of sofa-bed mechanisms where suitable parts and the furniture’s construction allow it. We also sew cushions, bolsters, mattresses and individual upholstered elements to agreed dimensions. These are different tasks: a mechanism needs a compatibility check, while a cushion needs accurate dimensions, suitable filling and a cover. Photographs and a clear description help identify the appropriate next step.

What to consider

A photograph alone cannot confirm mechanism compatibility. If accessible, include the model or markings and show the furniture in both positions. Do not force a jammed mechanism. For cushions, describe the required firmness, thickness and whether the cover needs to be removable. Availability, cost and timing are agreed individually.

What to prepare for your enquiry

For a mechanism, show the whole sofa and the moving parts from a safe position. Include model markings and both the open and closed positions if the furniture can be moved normally. Do not force a jammed or damaged mechanism. For cushions or other soft elements, give the width, depth, thickness, number of pieces and intended use. Explain the desired firmness and whether the cover should be removable. Exact measurements and the choice of filling must be agreed before sewing. The ability to repair or replace a mechanism depends on compatibility and available parts. A photograph is a starting point, not confirmation that a replacement will fit. The scope, price, timing and transport are agreed for the particular task.
